Do you have a nasty dent in your carpet left by heavy furniture? Put an ice cube on the dent and leave it to melt. Wool pile springs up like new but it not so good on acrylics,

For slightly burnt pans a one hour soak in strong salt water should do the trick.
If really caked on it may need as long as twelve hours with a boil up before and after.

CLEANING WINDOWS
A little methylated spirits or viegar in the rinsing water which will improve the shine. Then dry with newspaper to polish up the glass.
